"Pujya Shri Ram Chandra of Fategarh, affectionately known as Lalaji Sahab or Lalaji Maharaj, was a great saint and spiritual teacher of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. During his lifetime, he was honoured and revered by various spiritual groups, and like Kabir, both Yogis and Sufis spoke of him as theirs. His vast research in the spiritual field led him to remodel the age-old practice of Yoga for modern times, and he thus became the first Guru of the Sahaj Marg system of Raja Yoga."
