The Padri tree is a deciduous tree that grows about 5 to 10 metres tall. For its showy bloom of flowers, it is often grown as an ornamental tree in gardens and landscape designs. Itâ€™s wood is harvested locally for wood, but it is also used in furniture and doors making as they have a very beautiful shade of colour on polish. It's endemic to the Indian subcontinent and contains high concentrations of steroidal compounds.
